Summer Essentials

summer7

Summer is officially in full effect and who doesn’t love the warm sunny days and nights. My summer beauty routine is so much more low maintenance compared to my winters. Lately I’ve been reaching for the same summer essentials which includes makeup and body care.

Let’s get started shall we!

Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin CC Cream SPF 20 in Light/Medium

summer3

Description: “First ever 100 percent natural origin CC formula (color and correction), combines the skin nourishing benefits of a CC cream with natural and organic ingredients for naturally nourished skin.”
My Thoughts: For the summer months I love wearing light minimal makeup. Physicians Formula hit the nail on the head, creating a tinted moisturizer with great ingredients that covers like a foundation without the heavy feel. The CC cream leaves a dewy finish which is nice, but I like setting the tint with a powder since I become oily in the heat. The only setback is the color range it offers. Currently the only colors available are Light and Medium Light. Hopefully they provide more color ranges in the future.
Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide 3.9%, Zinc Oxide 1% Inactive Ingredients: Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Water, Dodecane, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Silica, Glycerin+, Lecithin, Water, Magnesium Sulfate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Beeswax, Porphyra Umbilicalis Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Agave Tequilana Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Lauroyl Lysine, Leuconostoc / Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Leuconostoc Ferment Filtrate. Zuzu Luxe Bronzer Mineral D28

summer2

Description: “Bronzer powder that create a warm summer glow with a touch of gold shimmer. The long-lasting formula keeps your skin looking sun kissed all day long.”
My Thoughts: Who doesn’t like looking sun-kissed? I know, I do! After I apply my tinted moisturizer I like to contour my features with this amazing bronzer. It leaves the most beautiful golden shimmer that’s not overpowering. The bronzer comes in two shades: D28 for lighter skin tones and D32 for darker tones.
Ingredients: Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Octyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Beeseline Original

summer4

Description: “Beeseline Original is made with three simple, 100% natural and certified organic ingredients – super nourishing and quick absorbing coconut oil, antiseptic honey and beeswax, known to lock in moisture.”
My Thoughts: Beeseline is an alternative to petroleum jelly. There are many uses for Beeseline to include: “moisturizing the face, keeping lips soft, styling and nourishing dry and brittle hair, keeping your body moisturized, removing makeup, priming your face, helping cracked and dry heels and feet.” I’ve been using the product to remove my makeup. After my makeup is removed, I am left with soft moisturized skin. I have not had any breakouts which is a bonus. The product may be greasy for some, but it washes off easily and removes stubborn cosmetics. This brand is only sold in Canada so shipping to the U.S. Could be costly but so worth it.
Ingredients: *Coconut Oil, *Beeswax & *Wildflower Honey. (* = Certified Organic)
Price: $10.99 8oz

I Love Chicken Poop – Good Gravey Lotion Solid

Description: “A non-messy, molded, moisturizing puck for hands and body. The lotion solid is made with beeswax and rice bran oil, a substance rich with anti-oxidants and a good source of vitamin E. Good Gravey has a soothing lavender scent. The 3 oz. solid puck is removable to allow for easy application and is packaged in an attractive round tin. Good Gravey makes everything better!”
My Thoughts: I love me some Chicken Poop! One of my favorite products are their Lip Glaces review here. I’ve been applying the Good Gravey Lotion Solid before bedtime. I rub it on any dry spots I may have, like my elbows, knees, and feet. The Lavender Oil is a plus, it relaxes me for a good nights sleep. I awake and my dry patches are still moisturized.
Ingredients: Rice Bran Oil, Beeswax, and Lavender Essential Oil.
Price: $13.00

I Love Chicken Poop – Kill It Dead De-funkifier

Description: “Kill It Dead de-funkifier doesn’t just cover the funk; it attacks it and makes it be gone. All natural and vegan, this is the alternative to your drug store deodorant containing not so good stuff like aluminum and parabens. The combination of tea tree oil (melaleuca alternifolia) and witch hazel provides the perfect weapon against funk-causing bacteria. Kill It Dead allows for your naturally scented body to be funk free and not perfumey.”
My Thoughts: I love this stuff, it’s so multi-purpose. You can use it almost anywhere on the body or virtually anywhere that needs de-funking. I use it when I’m outdoors building up sweat and funk. I also like spraying it in my shoes to deodorize them after I work out. The smell of tea tree oil is very noticeable, it smells so clean and I feel refreshed and odor free.
Ingredients: Witch hazel (14% alcohol by volume) and tea tree oil (melaleuca alternifolia).
Price: $12.34 4oz

That’s it y’all! Let me know if you’ve used any of the products mention or what summer essentials you’re using.

*I purchased the Physician Formula Organic Wear with my own money; Zuzu Luxe Bronzer and Beeseline were won in a giveaway; I Love Chicken Poop Good Gravey Lotion Solid and Kill It Dead de-funkifier were sent for free in exchange for my honest review. I have not been compensated in any way for these reviews. The opinions are my own and I am not affiliated with the companies mentioned.*

  1. I haven’t tried Physicians formula CC cream yet (and I probably never will) because the ingredients like jojoba oil and sunflower seed oil break me out badly. You’re so lucky you can use those products! And plus like you mentioned they dont have a wider range of colors 😦 I love how you listed all of the ingredients for all of the products. I may have to try the I Love Chicken Poop Kill it Dead de-funkifier because I get over heated in the summer easily so thanks for that review!
