I was contacted by Saint Francis Organics about a month ago, they are in the process of launching their new NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) organic product line. I was thrilled when they contacted me to test their new product formulation. The formulation is powered with Soapberry, a natural fruit harvested in Nepal. “Saponin, the cleaning compound found in Soapberry, has been used for thousands of years by the Nepalese people for cleaning and medicinal purposes. Wild harvested in Nepal at the base of the Himalayan mountains, the organic fruit has become a major source of income and economic development for this poor region of the world. We are happy to support the economic development in these rural areas of Nepal.”
Founder, Jon Olivier changed his career from an environmental engineer to selling nutritional ingredients. His passion for non- toxic ingredients grew even stronger through reading, researching and studying the body and how it worked. 15 years later, the same passion still burns within him.
A little about Saint Francis Organics, “I founded Saint Francis Organics in 2010 because I wanted to reduce the toxins that are common in our health and beauty products. What we put on our skin and hair goes into our bodies. Studies show many of these synthetic ingredients can cause acute and chronic health issues. I wanted to start a company that made healthy, clean and safe personal care products.” Read more here.
The five products tested includes: NSF Organic Shampoo in Lemon, NSF Organic Conditioner in Lemon, NSF Organic Body Wash in Peppermint Vanilla, NSF Organic Hand Soap in Lavender Blend, and NSF Organic Hand/Body Lotion in Peppermint Vanilla.
NSF Organic Shampoo in Lemon
My Thought: This shampoo lathered wonderfully, the citrus aroma of lemon was not too strong. My hair texture is dry and wavy, and this shampoo left my hair soft and manageable. I also tested the shampoo on my daughter’s baby fine and very straight hair. The shampoo was a bit heavy for my daughter’s hair, and it did leave it a little greasy. I would not recommend this shampoo if you have baby fine hair. If you have dry course hair like me, this shampoo is for you! It is very moisturizing and leaves your hair very soft and manageable.

NSF Organic Conditioner in Lemon
My Thoughts: Like the shampoo, I really enjoyed this conditioner. It was thick in consistency and left my hair soft. I also applied it to my daughter’s towel dried hair and used it as a detangler. Surprisingly, it did not leave her hair oily like the shampoo. This is one conditioner I truly recommend.

NSF Organic Body Wash in Peppermint Vanilla
My Thoughts: This body wash is nice, it lathered rather well and left a lovely aroma of peppermint vanilla. I was happy the peppermint was not overpowering since it’s not my favorite scent. The vanilla gave it the perfect blend to calm the peppermint. Overall a great body wash with fantastic ingredients!

NSF Organic Hand Soap in Lavender Blend
My Thoughts: This hand soap smells so calming. Oil blends of lavender, bergamot and orange left my hands with a sweet scent. The soap did not dry my hands, but left them feeling clean and soft. I love seeing Aloe Vera as part of the ingredients and was also very surprised to see green tea extract. All the ingredients are awesome and very good for the skin.
