Real Purity

When I was a little girl, I remember watching my mom apply her red lipstick, thinking I could not wait to grow up and wear makeup.  Now with my own daughter, I catch her doing the same thing I did as a kid. She is hypnotized by all the different color choices, but I am at ease because I know I am educating her about non-toxic choices (not only with makeup but other things too) that she will carry with her into adulthood.

I was contacted by Real Purity, a company who embraces natural beauty as much as I do. Real Purity was generous to send full size products a well as sample sizes. Products included: Real Purity Lipsticks, Real Purity Mascara, Eye Shadow Duo, Health Glow Cream Foundation, and Full Cover Concealer (Duo Shade). I was so excited to do a full face look using all Real Purity products.

Real Purity Lipstick Description: “Real Purity lipsticks are designed to make your lips sing with healthy color. My Thoughts: I was sent a full size lipstick in the shade, Sun Kissed. Sun Kissed is a brown, with orange/red undertones. The lipstick has a matte finish that did not leave my lips dry. Pycnogenol, a natural, plant derived antioxidant that protect lips from harsh chemicals and allergic reactions is an ingredient I was not familiar with. Aside from having amazing ingredients, the lasting power was great too! I was also sent samples of Shrimp, a bright red/orange color with shimmer. Tangerine, a orange frost with peach undertones. All lipsticks are beautiful and available in twenty five colors, you are bound to find the one for you.
Ingredients: Euphorbia Cerifera (Candellila) Wax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Aloe Vera Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Iron Oxide, Micronized Titanium Dioxide, Kaolin (Clay), Pycnogenol, Mica (Frosted or Shimmer lipsticks only).

My Thoughts: I love this mascara! Finally a mascara that has fabulous ingredients that lengthens. I received the color Brown-Black, opening the package the mascara looked more brown but once applied the black was noticeable. I do not have long eyelashes, but this mascara did a great job defining my lashes. The mascara did not flake nor transfer like other mascaras. I was really impressed by this product. I do wish it was thicker or had volume, but maybe Real Purity will come out with one in the near future.
Ingredients: Purified Water, Beeswax, Glycerin, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candellila) Wax, Cellulose, Salvia Lavandulaefolia (Sage) Extract, Ivy Extract, Pycnogenol, Iron Oxides, **Clear Mascara does not contain Iron Oxides.

My Thoughts: I received the duo shades in Lizard and Coral. Lizard, is an olive green color, although Lizard is described to have a slight shimmer, I found it more matte. Coral, is a matte pink with a little yellow. Both eye shadows applied very light, I had to reapply them to make the colors darker. I did notice after a few hours of application the colors were fading even with primer applied before hand. By the end of the day, the colors were completely gone. The ingredients and color shades are excellent, but the lasting power is not. Maybe I can try them foiled to see if they last longer.

Health Glow Cream Foundation Description: “Named as one of the first “mineral make-ups” on the market, Real Purity Crème Health Glow Foundation is a must have for any all natural makeup lover. This foundation will leave your skin even toned and glowing, and with a base of pure water, smoothing it on your skin won’t clog your pores.”
My Thoughts: I received three shades of foundation, and my perfect shade is Honey Beige. I can not believe how wonderful this foundation is. It has light to medium coverage, and evened out my skin tone. I did have to work fast because it did start to dry quickly. It did not have a dewy finish, but once I applied moisturizer there was a slight glow. Overall, great natural coverage that did not oxidize nor cling to any dry patches which was a plus.

Full Cover Concealer (Duo Shade) Description: “Hide unsightly blemishes and skin discolorations with Real Purity’s Disguise System, a concealer for even the more irritable skin. My Thoughts: The sample concealer duo was easy to apply, it glided on smoothly. Unfortunately, it was very light, with minimal coverage. Although it did not conceal very good, I did like that it did not crease or dry the bottom of my eye area.
