Happy New Year 2018!

2017, had an awesome ending with the birth of my son along with other life events that have kept me busy and away from blogging. Now that things have slowed down a bit, I am happy to get back into my blogging passion.

As we approach a new year, winter in Texas has been unpredictable. We can go from being in the 70’s to having ice and snow the next day. Dealing with dry skin is the very effect to this type of weather and its very frustrating to deal with it every year.

Delúvia Mineral Skincare and Cosmetics, were kind enough to send me a few samples of their skin care products derived from the Dead Sea, as well as products from their cosmetic line.

A little about Delúvia Mineral Skincare and Cosmetics:

From the age of 15, Deluvia’s co-founder, Alicia, suffered with Psoriasis and began her search for relief. This sparked the discovery of the healing powers of the Dead Sea. They traveled as a family to Israel and they experienced, first-hand the amazing properties of the Dead Sea minerals and the concept of Deluvia was born. They experienced such dramatic results that they decided to launch a Dead Sea product line. Since that time, this has developed further into a complete line of products further enhanced with organic Aloe Vera, along with other specialized ingredients beneficial to the skin.

The Delúvia Dead Sea Purifying Mud Mask quickly took off so the owners created a complimentary skin care line to use along with the mud to get even better results. With the desire to keep the line as pure as possible, further development was done to create the current paraben-free line. We strive to use natural and organic ingredients to create quality products without fillers or preservatives. As a family business, we can take the time and care to keep our line of products as pure and natural as possible.

Deluvia Dead Sea Skin care generously provided me with their *Purifying Mud Mask, *Rejuvenating Facial Cream, *Hydrating Eye Cream, *Antioxidant Foaming Cleanser, and *Clarifying Toner.

Purifying Mud Mask Description:

Purifying Mud Mask gently exfoliates and removes impurities while enriching the skin with essential minerals. The Mud from the Dead Sea is one of the most powerful purifying agents in nature, providing an effective cleansing mask for glowing, healthy looking skin.

My Thoughts: This sample was enough for 4 uses or more depending how much is used. The mud spread easily on the face and harden within minutes. My skin is usually sensitive and even more now with it being so dry from the weather. It stung my face a little, but I am sure that was from the impurities that were being drawn out of my pores. After rinsing the mud off with warm water my skin felt tight and clean. A moisturizer is recommended for my dry skin gals.

Ingredients: Dead Sea Mud, Sunflower (Helianthus Annuus) Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera Extract (Green Tea), Wheat ( Triticum Vulgare) Germ Oil, Aloe Vera (Barbadensis) Gel, Mandarin Orange (Citrus Nobilis) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E), Ascorbic Acid (Vit C)

*The mud mask has been reformulated on their website. The sample they sent me is currently unavailable.* The new ingredients include: Purified Water, Maris Limus (Dead Sea mud), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe), Bentonite, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, perfume. 

I asked about the perfume ingredient and their response is as follow:

It is a natural fragrance compound (from a natural source but modified in a lab), but it is not an essential oil. If that is an issue I completely understand. Almost all of our products have no added scent to them and the few that do, have essential oils. However, we found that the salts and minerals in the Dead Sea salts were unstable with essential oils. Hope this clarifies.

Rejuvenating Facial Cream Description:

Delúvia Rejuvenating Facial Cream is formulated to bring a high concentration of Aloe, Minerals and Vitamins to the skin every day. This luscious cream hydrates dry skin while helping to barrier against the assault that the skin encounters on a daily basis from free radicals.

My Thoughts: This product helped my skin retain its hydration from the dry weather. I especially loved wearing it under my foundation which kept my flaky skin at bay. The cream is not greasy and it absorbed with ease. My skin did not have any allergic reactions nor did it irritate my sensitive skin. A little goes along way.

Hydrating Eye Creme Description:

Delúvia Hydrating Eye Cream has been specifically formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness around the delicate eye area. Enriched with Dead Sea minerals, plant extracts, as well as specific ingredients that lock moisture onto the skin and aid in the look of firming the skin. The ingredients help to prevent the look of wrinkles and sagging.

My Thoughts: With a newborn baby I could use all the help I can for reducing puffiness from lack of sleep. The creme was not greasy and did not irritate my under eye area. Unfortunately, I did not see much of a difference with this product due to the amount given.

Antioxidant Foaming Cleanser Description:

Delúvia Antioxidant Foaming Cleanser is perfect for gently cleaning without leaving a residue. This foaming, botanical cleanser is enhanced with plant lipids and aloe to soothe and protect, as well as coconut and sugar derived ingredients to gently cleanse away impurities. These ingredients act to invite water into the skin, allowing it to remove the dirt and oils from the skin surface.

My Thoughts: I usually just remove my makeup with oil and rinse/wipe off with warm water. This product cleansed my face removing all traces of dirt and makeup left behind. It foamed easily penetrating the skin to let you know it is working. Once I rinsed my face with warm water my face was left feeling fresh. My face was tight but that is nothing a moisturizer can’t fix.

Clarifying Toner Description:

Delúvia Clarifying Toner is alcohol-free, as well as fragrance-free and dye-free. In addition to removing residue, it prepares the skin surface for nutrients and helps to reduce enlarged pores. It is rich in antioxidants, which are essential for all skin types, especially those with dry, sensitive, sun-damaged or over-exposed skin.

My Thoughts: I usually do not use toner due to its drying effect. I applied the toner with a cotton ball and it did feel as my face was really tight, but I am sure that is its job to minimize your pores. Personally I do not like the feeling since my face is dry at the moment. I will give this product another chance in the summer. If your skin is oily I am sure this product is great for you.

Not only does Deluvia offer skincare but it also offers Deluvia Cosmetics! They were kind enough to send a nice makeup bag full of goodies.

Alicia and Matt saw a need for a pure, cosmetics line that would compliment the Dead Sea skin care line. Naturally, they wanted it to be healthy for the skin without parabens, fillers or other chemicals that can be harmful to the skin. At the time there were very few natural cosmetics available. So they decided to expand the product line and create spa-quality mineral makeup that was made from nature, as well as provided excellent coverage while feeling light and gentle. The line was called ‘Demure’, from the original word, meaning an unassuming, natural makeup.

Deluvia Cosmetics generously sent products to include: *Mineral Foundation, *Mineral Blush, *Shimmer Mineral Eye Color, *Mineral Finishing Powder and a *Blush Makeup Brush.

Mineral Foundation Description:

Our Mineral Foundation is made with pure minerals from the earth and has shimmer to it. We do not use chemicals, fragrances or fillers (such as talc or rice). Numerous skin specialists recommend mineral cosmetics because it is free of additives that can trigger skin irritation and allows your skin to breathe.

Our foundations make you feel like you aren’t wearing makeup, yet offers great coverage as well as being water resistant. You can use a thin layer for a healthy natural look or apply additional layers for greater coverage. These silky powders go on lightly and because they are made with pure minerals, they are actually good for your skin.

My Thoughts: I received the mineral foundation in the color medium. It’s been awhile since I used mineral foundation. I forgot that it could also have great coverage. This mineral foundation got the job done and covered my imperfections. Due to my dry skin I also mixed the foundation with an oil and it also provided the same great coverage as it did dry.

Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxides, Ultra Marine Blue.

Mineral Blush Description:

 

Shimmer Mineral Eye Color Description:

Mocha Ice Mineral Eye Color is a light frosty creamed coffee with a little sparkle color.

My Thoughts: I received the Shimmer Mineral Eye Color in the color Mocha Ice. This was the perfect color for an all over lid color. It gave the perfect pop of sparkle with a tint of brown. This color is great alone for a day look or pair it with a darker shade for a night eye. Overall I really loved this color!

Ingredients: Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Mineral Finishing Powder Description:

Demure Finishing Powder is a silky, light powder that is applied after your foundation and blush. It goes on translucent and adds that “finished air brushed” look to your makeup. It is completely sheer and works for all skin tones. It helps to absorb oil and minimize the appearance of fine lines and pores and helps to keep your makeup lasting longer. Not tested on animals.

My Thoughts: I received the original mineral finishing powder. This powder provided the ultimate finish to complete my makeup look. It literally minimized my pores and kept me oil free all day and night. I loved this product the most!

Ingredients: Serecite, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxides.

Blush Brush Description:

Demúre Cosmetic Brushes are high quality and are made with 100% goat hair to give you the best application.

These brushes will give you that natural feathered application that you want with mineral makeup.

My Thoughts: I consider this a multi-use brush. The bristles did not irritate my skin and it held a good amount of product.
