LifeRoot Botanicals

As you may know I am from Texas, and who doesn’t love discovering clean brands close to home. A couple of months ago my local town had a festival with many booths. Of course I am always drawn to my clean beauty products.

I came across a brand named Skin Foodie now known as LifeRoot Botanicals. A little about LifeRoot Botancals:

We ARE strong in our desire for completely nourishing products for the mind, body and spirit. We are NOT a huge company trying to make sub-par products to make a buck. We ARE a company that makes our products fresh with real organic, wildcrafted ingredients from the earth. We ARE all about products that have a shelf life because they are REAL. A short shelf life is good. No harmful preservatives. We do NOT use some of the ingredients that the “all natural, organic” product lines use and say are healthy (but aren’t). We ARE a company that operates on love, grace, passion, truth, and the good people we meet.

I was greeted by Amy, one of the founders of LifeRoot Botanicals. Right away I was intrigued by many of her products. I informed her that my face suffered from dull/dry skin and I expressed my frustration. Amy heard all my concerns and she recommended not one, but many products that could help with my skin issues. She was very knowledgeable, which made it easy to make a decision and pick the right product. The product I picked was the Good Glow Serum.

Good Glow Serum Description:

My Thoughts: This oil was exactly what my skin was thirsting for. I applied it both day and night. The oil was a little heavy, so a little goes along way. Waking up in the morning my skin was left hydrated and my dull skin had a subtle glow. I also liked applying the oil under my makeup to ease any dry patches. It did not clog my pores nor cause any breakouts. This oil is a must for the upcoming Fall/Winter seasons.

Ingredients: Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis), rosehip (rosa canina), blackcurrent seed (Ribes nigrum), carrot (Daucus carota), sweet meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba), geranium (Pelargonium), chamomile (chamomilla), patchouli (Pogostemon cablin), myrrh (Commiphora myrrha), frankincense (Boswellia), red raspberry, tumeric

Price: $42.00

Amy was also so kind, and included her Mom Fixes Everything Balm as she noticed my newborn baby in his stroller. Talk about great customer service!

Mom Fixes Everything Balm Description:

This was the very first product Life Root created.

Mom fixes everything right? You can probably remember when you came crying and mom stuck a boo boo cream and a finger kiss on it and it was all better.

When SkinFoodie first started out, speaking in front of moms groups about non-toxic skincare for their children was a weekly thing. We would get all sorts of questions about children’s products.

A mom one night asked us to make a boo-boo balm that didn’t sting and wasn’t a typical antibiotic cream filled with toxic binders and excipients, like many store bought cut and scrape creams she had seen. So we got on it and researched herbs that would nourish and heal without the toxins.

Mom fixes everything was born….and the true mantra lives on. 🙂

My Thoughts: This was such a handy product for a newborn baby. When it says it helps with boo boo’s, it truly honored its word. The balm soothed my baby’s diaper rash as well as helped my other two kids with bug bites and burns. This product is a must for any diaper bag.

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil, olea europaea (olive) and/or Hemp oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea butter), Lavandula Angustifolia (lavender) flowers, beeswax, chamomilla recutita (chamomile) flowers, calendula officinalis flowers, lavandula angustifolia oil, aloe barbadensis leaf

Price: $18.00
